Brown at the IRA Championship
Brown has been a mainstay at top of the national championship regatta, including an impressive all-around performance at the 2014 IRA National Championship, when the Bears claimed four medals and placed second overall in the varsity eight grand final. Brown earned silver in the varsity eight and varsity four and bronze in the freshman eight and third varsity, and finished third in the standings for the Jim Ten Eyck Memorial Trophy, awarded to the school with the most team points. For the second straight year, Brown was one of three schools, and the only school in the East, to advance every boat to the grand final.
Last Time Out at the Eastern Sprints
Brown most recently competed at the EARC Eastern Sprints two weeks ago on Lake Quinsigamond, made up of the top rowing schools in the East and also determined the Ivy League Championship. Brown earned a silver medal in three different events, including the third varsity, as the Bears finished fourth in the varsity eight grand final. Yale won the varsity eight to claim the Ivy League title, while Brown finished tied for third in the Rowe Cup standings, awarded to the school with the highest number of total points. Brown also sent all five boats to the grand finals.
