PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's crew returns to the water this weekend when the Bears host four-time defending IRA national champion University of Washington Saturday morning on the Seekonk River.
Brown vs. Washington (Saturday, April 4)
1F – 8:20 a.m.
JV – 8:40 a.m.
V8 – 9:00 a.m.
Clash of the Titans
Washington's visit to the Seekonk River marks the first time the Huskies will visit the Bears' home course in the history of the two schools. In addition to Washington's unprecedented visit to the East Coast, the highly anticipated dual race will feature the top two crews from last season's IRA National Championship. Brown was runner-up at the 2014 IRA National Championship, highlighted by a second-place finish in the varsity eight, while the Bears claimed four medals during the three-day event. Washington took first place and was the only crew to best the Bears in the varsity eight grand final.
Fan Information
Fans are encouraged to watch the exciting event at the Narragansett Boat Club in Providence, located at the finish line of the 2,000-meter course on the Seekonk River, featuring live audio updates of each race. For directions to the Narragansett Boat Club, click HERE.
Last Time vs. UW
Even though this will be Washington's first visit to the Seekonk River, the two schools are hardly unfamiliar opponents during the dual-race season, having faced off in each of the last three seasons. Brown last visited Washington in 2014 when the Huskies captured all three races on the Montlake Cut.
Up Next
After this weekend, the Bears will visit Harvard on Saturday, April 11 in the annual battle for the Stein Cup.
