CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Brown Men's Crew wrapped up its fall season Sunday morning with a second-place finish at the Foot of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston.
This is a "head" style race of about 2.5 miles, where crews race down the river in a single-file line with the objective being to cover the distance of the course in the shortest amount of time. Nearly the entire squad competed in the event, with five 4-man boats and two 8-man boats competing against other Boston-area schools such as Harvard, Northeastern, Boston University and MIT.
In the fours race, Brown's A boat of coxswain Neil Neil Mckenzie and oarsmen Finn Meeks, Grant Bitler, Liam Casey and Jackson Dobronyi came in second place to Harvard by a slim margin of .5 seconds. Brown covered the course in a time of 13:01.5. The remaining Brown boats finished 10th, 11th, 16th and 17th respectively. Brown had two entries in the Open 8 event, finishing 5th and 8th respectively.
