HAMDEN, Conn. – Brown University women's ice hockey held No. 5 Quinnipiac University scoreless over the game's first 24 minutes, but the hosts scored twice in the second period and once in the third to take a 3-0 win on Friday afternoon at High Point Solutions Arena.
Sophomore goaltender Monica Elvin (Oakland, Calif.) made 32 saves for the Bears (4-12-0, 1-8-0 ECAC), but Erica Uden Johansson, Morgan Fritz-Ward, and Shiann Darkangelo each netted a goal to lead the Bobcats (17-1-3, 10-1-2 ECAC).
Elvin recorded 30 or more saves in a game for the fifth time this season, turning aside 13 shots in the first period, nine in the second, and 10 in the third. The Bears blocked 11 shots as a team, including five in the first period to keep the Bobcats off the board.

Brown killed off four of Quinnipiac's five power play opportunities while the Bobcats went 2 for 2 on the penalty kill.
Uden Johansson netted the game's first goal 4:45 into the second period as a deflected shot came to her in the right faceoff circle, and she slotted the puck into the net. Lindsey West and Nicole Kosta picked up assists on the play.
The Bobcats doubled their lead to 2-0 just over three minutes later as Morgan Fritz-Ward deflected home a point shot on the power play. Cydney Roesler and Uden Johansson tacked on assists.
Darkangelo registered the contest's final marker as Kristen Tamberg worked the puck from the blue line to Fritz-Ward at the goal line. Fritz-Ward then passed from right to left to Darkangelo who sent the puck into the net from in front of the crease.
Brown freshman Samantha Swanstrom (Ham Lake, Minn.) won 9-of-14 faceoffs while seniors Sarah Robson (Mississauga, Ontario) and Lauren Vella (Staten Island, N.Y.) each posted two shots on goal.
