THE SERIES HISTORY – YALE
The teams will meet on Friday for the 44th time, with the Bears holding a 25-16-2 edge in the all-time series. Brown swept last November's home-and-home set by scores of 3-1 and 2-1, respectively.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Yale enters Friday match unbeaten in its previous four contests (2-0-2), including a scoreless draw with Columbia last Saturday. In six Ivy contests, the Bulldogs have scored just twice while allowing just two goals in registering three scoreless ties in league play this season. Seniors Melissa Gavin and Frannie Coxe with a combined seven goals and 10 assists, while goalkeeper Elise Wilcox leads the Ivy League with an impressive .918 save percentage in surrendering just five goals in 980 minutes of action.
(11/10/13) - Junior Chloe Cross (Seattle, Wash.) headed in a first half goal and senior Kiersten Berg (Salt Lake City, Utah) fired in a second half tally to lift the Brown women's soccer team over Yale, 2-1, in non-conference action at Stevenson Field on Sunday.
The Bears will honor Mallory Yant, Jenn Casey, Chloe Cross, Kirsten Belinsky, Allie Reilly, Annie Gillen, and Briel Crespi during a pregame ceremony on Friday.
LEHAN GOES THE DISTANCE
Freshman back Maclaine Lehan (Shrewsbury, Mass.) has played all 1503:44 of play this season.
YANT MAINTAINS IVY LEAGUE LEAD IN SAVES
With three stops against Penn last Saturday night, goalkeeper Mallory Yant (Fenton, Mo.) has maintains her lead in the Ivy League saves category with 57.
WARSHAUER NETS #1
Ella Warshauer's strike in the fifth minute on Oct. 8 against Quinnipiac was the sophomore's first career goal.
FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATICS
Cross' goal in the 83rd minute on Oct. 4 was the third time the Bears have scored in the 80th minute or later this season.
Continuing their productive seasons, junior midfielder Erin Katz (Montgomery, Ala.) and sophomore Carly Gould (Hampton Falls, N.H.) both rank second on the team with three goals each.
CALAS AND REILLY FIND THE BACK OF THE NET
Sydney Calas and Allie Reilly each notched their first goals of the season on Wednesday in Brown's 3-1 win over Bryant. For Reilly, it marked her first strike since Sept. 2, 2011. Calas added her second marker of the season on Tuesday against Quinnipiac.
SHUMWAY COLLECTS FIRST WIN
Freshman goalkeeper Rylee Shumway (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted her first career start on Oct. 1 at Bryant, collecting her first collegiate win after making three saves and surrendering just one goal. She also posted a scoreless second half against Quinnipiac on Tuesday.
Six of the seven Brown freshmen have logged important minutes for the Bears this season, combining for 26 total starts in 16 games.
