Sophia Geier joined Brown University's women's tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach in August 2023. She was previously the senior assistant coach at Kenyon College for two seasons.Â
A two-time Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Year, Geier graduated from the University of Akron in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. Prior to graduation, she was the No. 1 tennis player on the Zips' roster. She was a four-time letterwinner, a three-time team captain, a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete award winner and a two-time team MVP.Â
A native of Burgebrach, Germany, Geier remained at Akron to work as a Graduate Assistant Coach for one season and to earn her master's degree in business administration. After Akron, Geier worked for a year at Cliff Drysdale Tennis in New Braunfels, Texas. In March of 2021, she moved on to The Club at Glenmore in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she served as a Sports Program Manager for junior tennis.
