Sophia Hyderally is in her third season in 2026 as Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator with Brown gymnastics after joining the program ahead of the 2024 season. A former NCAA Regional qualifier on beam, Hyderally previously served as an assistant coach at Temple and Nebraska in addition to coaching at the club level. At Brown, she coaches beam while also handling choreography for beam and floor.
Through her first two seasons at Brown, the team has posted each of the top six scores in program history on beam, while her athletes have earned six All-GEC honors, two All-GEC Championship honors, one individual Ivy championship and three All-Ivy accolades. Individual gymnasts have also posted four of the top five scores in program history during Hyderally’s tenure.
During the 2025 season, Brown finished the year ranked No. 2 in the GEC on beam, with two individuals ranked in the top three in the conference, and all six members of the beam lineup ranking in the top 25 in the GEC. She coached Emily Ford to the Ivy League individual title on beam, and helped choreograph senior Maya Davis to an NCAA Regional berth on floor, with Davis also earning GEC Specialist of the Year honors, as well as both the GEC and Ivy titles on floor.
In her first season at Brown in 2024, Hyderally coached two student-athletes to USAG All-America accolades, including one first team honoree. Two gymnasts also earned Second Team All-GEC honors on beam.
As an assistant coach at Temple in 2023, Hyderally served as the Owls’ choreographer and lead coach on vault and floor, in addition to supervising social media and marketing for the program and assisting with recruiting. Under her direction, the team broke the program records on both vault (49.250) and floor (49.400) and helped put up two of the top four team scores in program history. She also coached two floor athletes to qualifying spots in the NCAA Regionals.
As a volunteer assistant at Nebraska for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Hyderally assisted on all four events as well as floor and beam choreography. She coached three Huskers to All-Big Ten honors and eight gymnasts to qualify for NCAA Regionals. While in Nebraska, she also coached gymnasts at levels 3-9 at the Nebraska School of Gymnastics and Lincoln Elite Gymnastics.
As a collegiate student-athlete at Alaska-Anchorage, Hyderally broke six school records during her junior season in 2019, earned First Team All-MPSF accolades on beam and floor, won the conference title on beam, and qualified for the NCAA Corvallis Regional on beam where she tied for fourth overall out of 56 gymnasts. As a senior in 2020, she set the program’s bars record (9.795) and earned First Team All-MPSF honors on bars and beam. She was in position to qualify for NCAA Regionals on beam once again before the cancellation of the season due to the pandemic.
Hyderally graduated from Alaska-Anchorage in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in international studies and a minor in sociology. She was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, from whom she served as vice president.
