2020-21: Earned CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors … Raced with the first varsity eight and second varsity eight during the regular season; moved to the A varsity four for the NCAA Championships (May 28-30) … Helped the A varsity four place 12th at NCAAs and the Bears finish eighth as a team at NCAAs.
2019-20: Placed seventh out of 47 entries with the B varsity eight at the Princeton Chase (Oct. 27) … Spring season canceled due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Before Brown: Won team’s Hammer Award for the best 2K time … Captured team’s Coaches Award in 2016 and 2019 … Rowed for head coach Emmie Koenig … Raced on the club level for Pacific Rowing Club … Also competed in fencing for head coach Yves Ghiai … Won the National AP Scholar Award.
Personal: Elise is the daughter of Isabelle and Eric Carman … Has two siblings, Juliette and Theodore … Grandfather Robert Carman competed in cross country and track & field at Carnegie Mellon University, won the U.S. title in the 30-kilometer race in 1960, and posted a seventh-place finish at the Boston Marathon in 1960 … Computer Science concentrator.
