Giana Cappelli first joined the Brown University Athletic Communications team in August 2023 as an intern, and has since become an Athletic Communications Officer in July 2024.

During her time as an intern, Cappelli served as the primary contact for the sailing and tennis teams, as well as a secondary contact for football. She also assisted in coverage of men's and women's ice hockey.

Prior to Brown, Giana spent a year interning with Girls Club as a Media Coordinator. There, she helped run the brand’s social media pages, and assisted in creating graphics. She then moved into her role as the Media Director of LinkedIn, where she oversaw and worked closely with interns to create content for the brand.

Cappelli is a Rhode Island native that graduated from La Salle Academy in 2020. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rhode Island in 2024, earning a Bachelor of Arts in sports media and communication with a minor in journalism.
