Patrick Schirk joined the Brown men’s swimming & diving program as the volunteer coach in November of 2015 and will enter his fifth season with the Bears in 2019-20.
Schirk brings USA National Team experience and an All-American status to the staff, having been the 2008 NCAA National Champion in the 200 backstroke. He will provide the Brown student-athletes with an example of the work ethic and drive needed to become a national champion level swimmer.
Collegiately, Schirk swam for Penn State. His Big 10 knowledge base will add to the current staff's Ivy League, SEC, and ACC experience. Schirk has swam for some of the best coaches in the country with a number of other world-class athletes. He will bring an abundance of new training philosophies and ideas to the program.
Schirk is currently a Brand/Product Manager of a Spine Surgeon Request Team for DePuy Synthes, a Johnson & Johnson company, in Raynham, Mass.
