Jimmy Picerelli was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics, Recruiting in July 2024. In his role, he is responsible for developing and implementing recruiting and creative content strategies across Brown's 34 varsity programs. He also supports the growth of Brown Athletics' branding and external reputation by collaborating with coaches, administrators, strategic communications, marketing, corporate sponsorship, compliance, and other university partners.
Before his current role, Picerelli served as Brown Athletics' Digital Strategy Manager beginning in May 2023, where he also acted as the division's lead graphic designer. While there, he worked with the division’s strategic communications, creative, recruiting, production, marketing, branding, and corporate sponsorship units, as well as all 34 of Brown's varsity programs.
Picerelli came to College Hill in July 2022 when he was hired as a Defensive Quality Control Coach on Brown’s football staff. He produced opponent scouting reports and tendencies, broke down film, prepared practice plans, and assisted with the offensive scout team, secondary, and specialist units. He served as the lead graphic designer for the program and implemented strategies for recruiting, creative content, and promotional efforts.
Before Brown, Picerelli spent one season as the Director of Football Operations & NFL Liaison at Marist College and one season as the Assistant Director of Football Operations and Recruiting at Bryant University. At both stops, he managed the program’s operating budget and day-to-day operations. He also served as liaison to key campus partners, including compliance, academic support, financial aid, admissions, sports medicine, and the business office, while overseeing a team of 34 student workers and interns.
In Spring 2019, Picerelli served as a Football Operations Intern in the NFL with the Washington Commanders. He served as an assistant to the General Manager while working with team operations, player personnel, and equipment.
As an undergraduate, Picerelli worked within Bryant University's athletic department for 3 years in various capacities, including operations, communications, marketing, and equipment. Most notably, he worked alongside the department’s Director of Digital Media and oversaw social media and recruiting content strategies for all 18 varsity programs with an emphasis on graphic design and photography.
As a student-athlete, Picerelli was a four-year member of Bryant's football program, including two under current Brown head coach James Perry. Picerelli was a 2x All-Conference selection and was named to the program’s 2010s All-Decade Team as a long snapper. A Dean’s List honoree and NEC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll student, Picerelli graduated cum laude from Bryant in 2020 with a degree in business administration and a dual concentration in team & project management and sports studies.
Picerelli is a native of Warren, RI. He is currently working towards his Master’s in Sport Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
