2023 Baseball Roster

Richard Ramirez
- Class:
- Position:
- Team IMPACT
Brown University head baseball coach Grant Achilles announced the signing of Richard as the newest member of the Brown baseball program on October 1, 2021. Richard came to Brown through a partnership with Team IMPACT, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.
“Our Team IMPACT partnership is something that I can’t imagine not having,” Achilles said. “To welcome Richard and his family into our program is something that I think we’ll get just as much out of as he and his family will. To see him and his smiling face and resilience after his journey to get where he is today, along with his strong parents, we’re just grateful to have them all together with our team.”
Richard was officially introduced at a draft day press conference on Friday afternoon at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium, during which he signed his official letter of intent. Richard's family, along with all of his new teammates and members of the Brown athletic department were in attendance. Now an official member of the Bears’ baseball team, Richard will be a fixture at games, practices, and various team functions.
Richard has met with his Brown teammates and enjoyed some team events virtually since last spring, but did not have the opportunity to be with the team in person until Friday.
“It’s going to be awesome having Richard as a part of the team,” said junior Ryan Marra. “He’s an inspiration to us all. He’s a real joy to be around and I know having him around the guys will keep us lighthearted and keep our energy up. We’re super excited to have him.”
