Reid’s Domination Leads Baseball to Series Win Over Yale

Reid delivered a career performance, controlling the game for 7.0 shutout innings, allowing just three hits and three walks with eight strikeouts, all against a Yale team that entered the weekend leading the Ivy League with a .276 batting average. He threw 72 of his 103 pitches for strikes and had the out-pitch throughout, inducing a double play to end the fifth, picking off a runner to end the sixth inning, and got a big strikeout after an error to end the seventh.
Since the second inning of game two of Saturday's doubleheader, the Bears have not allowed a run in the last 17 innings.

Brown grinded out at bats and throughout the game, scoring seven of their eight runs with two outs. Sophomore Alex Benevento led the way with three hits and an RBI. Junior Brady Dever reached base four times with two hits, two walks, and scored two runs with one RBI. Freshman Matt Luigs went 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs. Senior Mika Petersen also drove in two runs.
Brown jumped in front with a pair of runs in the third inning. With runners on second and third with one out, Mark Henshon had an RBI ground out and Benevento lined an RBI single down the right field line.

The Bears doubled the lead in the top of the fourth when Christian Butera and Dever drew walks. Luigs stopped up with two outs and drove an outside pitch to the opposite field and over the head of the right fielder for a two-run triple to make it 4-0.

Three more runs in the fifth pushed the lead to 7-0 as Petersen roped a two-out double off the wall in right field to knock in two runs, and Luigs later drew a bases loaded walk.
More two-out magic! Five of the six runs have come with two outs as Mika drives the 0-2 pitch off the wall to plate two more runs!

The Bears will return home on Tuesday afternoon, March 24 to host Stonehill in a non-league matchup. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
