Gymnastics Ties for First with Strong Showing at Temple Quad

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Brown gymnastics team turned in another strong effort on Friday night, posting a 194.025 to tie Yale for first place in a quad meet at Temple. Temple finished third with 193.375, followed by William & Mary at 191.775.
Senior Sophia Dewar scored a 9.850 on vault to take first place, while freshman Sophie Tressler and sophomore Daisy Fallon tied for second on bars.
The Bears started off the meet on beam by posting a 48.650, led by Emily Ford in a tie for sixth place with a 9.775. Lindsay Van Eyk followed in a tie for eighth place with a 9.750.
Next on floor, Brown put up a 48.725 with Rehna Saalinger tying for fourth place with a big career-high of 9.800. Dewar followed with a 9.775 and Addy Whiteside scored 9.700.
On vault, Bruno posted a 48.550 with Dewar setting a new career-high in the anchor position at 9.850 to take first place. Ford and Lulu Ton-That tied for seventh overall at 9.725.

Rounding out the meet on bars, Fallon and Tressler (career-high) tied for second overall to land on the podium at 9.725.
Up next, the Bears will compete for their first championship of the season next Sunday, February 22 with the Ivy Classic. Start time from Yale's Lee Ampitheatre in New Haven is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
