Women’s Fencing Sweep, Repeat as NFC Champions

BOSTON, Mass. - The Brown women's fencing team swept all seven rounds en route to earning a Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) championship for the second consecutive season on Saturday. The Bears earned victories over Vassar, MIT, Wellesley, Brandeis, Wheaton, host Boston College, and Sacred Heart to repeat as NFC champions.
In sabre action, Alexandra Tzou (9-3) led the squad with nine victories, with Soph Bililies (8-3) and Ibla Vadasz (8-2) each contributing eight wins to Brown's total. Alyssa Sun went 7-2 and Sophia Lee added a 4-8 performance across the rounds.
For the foil squad, Apoorva Talwalkar (15-3) and Jessie Chen (14-1) paced the group with a combined 29-4 record. Grace Li followed with an impressive 11-4 mark, while Vera Fung closed the day at 8-7.
In epee, Kira Nguyen (11-2) and Amy Mao (11-3) each earned 11 wins, followed by Dasha Smuk (8-6) and Ashley Luo's (8-3) eight victories. Jessie Yan went 7-5 to cap epee performances.

The Bears will compete in the NCAA Regionals on March 8.
