Women's Water Polo Hosts Harvard Invite This Weekend

PROVIDENCE, RI - Brown women's water polo (9-4, 1-1 CWPA) hosts Harvard Invite this weekend at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
Saturday, Feb. 28, the Bears will start the weekend off at 9 a.m. with a conference game against #14 Princeton (12-0, 2-0 CWPA). The Bears will then play Wagner (3-6) at 3 pm; this game will also serve as the mental health awareness game. To cap off the weekend on Sunday (March 1) the Bears will compete against LIU (3-7) at 4 p.m.
Last weekend, the Bears went 1-1 against Michigan and Saint Francis.
On Saturday, Feb. 20, the team fell to Michigan (8-14). Sofia Flierl led Brown with four goals, and Samantha Kim added two for the Bears. Ava Schoening and Alexandra Love also found the net.
The team picked up their win of the weekend Sunday, Feb21, against Saint Francis (16-7). Flierl led Brown with five goals. Emmy Hensley finished the game with three, with Aubrie Anderson and Megan Newby each scoring two. The game was tied at two with just over a minute left in the first quarter before Brown exploded on a 6-0 run to take control of the game. The Bears would lead 10-4 at halftime, allowing them to take the win in the end.Â
