DANBURY, Conn. – Senior goaltender Tyler Shea earned ECAC MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week honors, announced by the conference Monday morning.
It marks the first weekly honor of Shea's career.
Over the two-game weekend, Shea recorded 75 saves and posted a .938 save percentage and a 2.40 goals against average.
Shea matched a career best with 46 saves in Brown's 2-2 tie against Harvard on Friday (Feb. 13). He added two more shootout saves to pick up the victory and extra league point for the Bears.
On Saturday (Feb. 14), he made 29 stops in Brown's 4-3 thrilling upset over 12th-ranked Dartmouth.
Shea holds a .914 save percentage and a 3.10 goals against average. He is 70 saves shy of cracking the top-20 for single-season saves in Brown program history.
The Bears hit the road for the final time in the regular season this weekend to take on the St. Lawrence Saints (5-22-3, 4-13-1 ECAC) and Clarkson Golden Knights (12-15-3, 6-9-3 ECAC). Friday's game against the Saints is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. with Saturday's game against the Golden Knights set for 4 p.m.
