Men’s Basketball Overcomes Double-Digit Deficit to Defeat Dartmouth, 79-76

HANOVER, N.H. - The Brown men's basketball team (8-15, 2-8) overcame a double-digit deficit to defeat Dartmouth (10-13, 4-6), 79-76, on Saturday evening inside Leede Arena.
Landon Lewis matched a career-high with 30 points on 12-15 shooting, 12 made field goals also matched a career-high. The senior finished with 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. This was Lewis' second double-double of the season, with the first coming against Dartmouth.
David Rochester netted 10 points off the bench on 3-4 shooting from the field, the sophomore also had two assists and two steals in the win. As a team, the Bears shot 55.4 percent from the floor, their best mark against a Division I opponent this season.
Dartmouth's largest lead of the game was 36-24 with 2:37 remaining in the first half. Brown outscored Dartmouth 6-2 to trail 38-30 heading into halftime. Lewis scored nine of his 30 points in the first half, Charlie O'Sullivan converted on two three-pointers as he finished the half with six points.
Trailing 43-34 with 18:39 remaining, the Bears mounted their comeback. Brown's 10-2 run came on the back of Lewis, who scored all 10 points. Lewis' second three-pointer of the run cut the Big Green's lead to 45-44.
Brown would tie the game at 49 on a layup by Jeremiah Jenkins, a three-pointer from Rochester with 12:55 remaining on the following possession gave Brown its first lead since it led 2-0. The two sides traded baskets until the game was knotted at 58, the Bears mounted a 9-2 run to take a 67-60 lead with 5:21 remaining.
The Big Green responded with a quick 9-1 run to take a 69-68 lead, but the Bears answered as Malcolm Wrisby-Jefferson hit a three-pointer to give Brown a 71-69 lead with 2:37 remaining, a lead it would not relinquish.
The Bears led by as much as five after reclaiming the lead for good, capped off by a four-point play by Luke Paragon.
Brown shot 7-8 from beyond the arc in the second half, highlighted Lewis, Rochester, and Luke Paragon, who all made two. Overall, the Bears shot 19-27 from the floor in the second half and had 13 assists on 19 made field goals in the final 20 minutes.
Brown will return home to welcome Princeton on Friday, Feb. 20, tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Pizzitola Sports Center. Fans can purchase tickets here.
