Gymnastics Takes Fourth at Ivy Classic

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Brown gymnastics team took home fourth place at the Ivy Classic on Sunday afternoon at Yale's Lee Amphitheater.
Individually, senior Sophia Dewar captured the Ivy title on floor, the first league title of her career. All told, Brown had three gymnasts – Dewar, Sophie Tressler and Emily Ford - earn a total of four All-Ivy Classic honors, which are presented to those who finish in the top six (including ties) of their respective events.

ALL-IVY CLASSIC
Sophia Dewar (Vault/Floor)
Sophie Tressler (Bars)
Emily Ford (Beam)
Brown started off the meet on vault with a 48.225, with Dewar leading the team in a tie for fifth at 9.775 to earn All-Ivy. Next on bars, the Bears posted a 46.950, where Tressler earned All-Ivy with her career-high of 9.825, which tied her for second place.
On beam, the team posted a 48.225 with Ford leading the team in a tie for fourth at 9.825. Lindsay Van Eyk followed at 9.800 to tie for seventh.
The squad saved its best for last with a 48.850 on floor, led by Dewar's 9.875 which tied her career-high and tied for first place overall. Daisy Fallon set a new career-high at 9.800 to tie for eighth and Van Eyk tied her career-high of 9.775 to tie for 11th.
Brown will return to the Pizzitola Sports Center each of the next two weekends, starting with next Sunday's dual meet against SUNY Cortland. Start time is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
