
Women’s Fencing Finishes Even at the Tufts Invitational

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Brown women's fencing team competed in four rounds of action, with highlighted wins over Tufts and Wellesley. The Bears opened the day with a tough matchup against Cornell, rebounded with a win against Tufts, battled with Northwestern, and closed with a victory over Wellesley.
In sabre action, Alyssa Sun came out with a 4-2 performance, while Soph Bililies added a 4-5 record. Anika Sinha finished 3-4 across the day, and Sophia Lee contributed a 3-4 mark.
In foil competitions, Catherine Zhou led the squad with a 6-3 performance, while Grace Li added a 5-1 record. Vera Fung contributed another winning mark for the group, finishing the day at 4-2.
In the epee contests, multiple fencers posted winning records. Ashley Luo led the way at 6-2, while Amy Mao and Dasha Smuk both added a 5-2 mark. Jessie Yan finished the day even at 3-3.
The Bears return to action on January 31 as they travel to Wellesley, Massachusetts, to compete in the Northeast Fencing Conference Championship.
