
Women’s Fencing Dominates at the Eric Sollee Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Brown women's fencing team went undefeated at the Eric Sollee Invitational. Brown dominated NYU, Hunter, Stevens Tech, and NJIT.
In sabre action, Ibla Vadasz (8-2) and Alexandra Tzou (7-2) came out with sharp performances, while Soph Bililies added a 6-1 record. Alyssa Sun finished 4-2 across the day, and Sophia Lee contributed a winning 3-1 mark.
In foil competition, Jessie Chen recorded an 11-1 record, while Apoorva Talwalkar (8-1) and Catherine Zhou (8-1) both recorded great scores as well. Grace Li (3-0) and Vera Fung (1-2) added strong showings across the board.
In the epee contests, Ashley Luo led the way at 8-1, while Kira Nguyen added a strong 7-2 mark. Amy Mao went undefeated (6-0), while Jessie Yan (5-1) and Dasha Smuk (4-2) added strong records as well.
The Bears wrapped up the day with an impressive 4-0 mark in Waltham, facing four different opponents. They return to action on February 7 at the Ivy League Championships in Princeton, New Jersey.
