DAVIDSON, N.C. - Brown Wrestling will participate in the annual Davidson Duals, with dual meets against Presbyterian, Lock Haven, and Bucknell on Friday, Jan. 16. Brown enters competition with a 2-1 dual meet record on the season, with victories against Davidson (35-15) and Long Island (29-17). The only loss on the season came against No. 6 Nebraska at the Hustle in the Heartland.
Andrew Reall (197) enters the week ranked No. 26 nationally in his weight class, and looks to build upon what has been a phenomenal sophomore season. With a team best 21-4 record (2-1 dual record), Reall has built a strong resume that could lead to an NCAA Tournament bid this March. Three of his victories have come via pinfall and six have come via tech fall, with both dual meet wins falling into the latter category.
Alex Semenenko (285) enters Friday with seven pinfall victories on the season, putting him in a four-way tie for the fourth most falls in Division I.
Max Norman (165) continues to have a standout debut season, as the freshman from Kingsport, Tennessee makes the trip to North Carolina with a 16-7 overall record (2-1 dual record). Norman has racked up several wins against nationally ranked opponents, with his most recent coming against Cornell's Louie Cerchio (No. 26 at the time of the match) via a 7-4 decision.
Austin McBurney (149) has the best dual record on the team this year, going 3-0 with wins over wrestlers from Davidson, No. 6 Nebraska, and Long Island. With a 14-6 overall record on the season, McBurney has put together a strong senior season for the Bears.
Khimari Manns (141) has the second most wins by a freshman this season, posting a 12-10 record with six tech falls. Preston Marchesseault (184) made his debut for the Bears last weekend, going 3-2 at the Franklin & Marshall Open and picking up a pinfall victory in the process.
For the second weekend in a row, Brown will have a wrestler making his debut for the team. This week it will be Chase Yasutake (125), hailing from Lahaina, Hawaii, who will get the start for Bruno.
