Men’s Tennis Claims Two Wins on Day One of the Harvard Invite

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Brown men's tennis team completed day one of the Harvard Invite on Friday with one doubles victory and one singles victory.

Elliot Wasserman, Cole Oberg, Alex Koong, and Toby Luo competed against student-athletes from Boston University and SMU.

The doubles pairing of freshmen Wasserman and Oberg picked up the lone doubles victory for Brown as they earned a 6-4 win over Jakob Esterowitz and Payton Jim-On from Boston University. In Brown's second doubles contest, Luo and Koong fell 6-1 to Vikas Deo and Matthew Faraci from SMU.

Wasserman claimed Brown's lone singles victory when he took down Jim-On from Boston University, 6-3, 6-3. Luo was defeated by Deo from SMU, 6-0, 6-3.

Oberg fell in a tiebreaker to Esterowitz of Boston University, 7-6 (3), 6-4 as Koong rounded out the Brown singles performers with a 6-1, 6-3 defeat to Faraci of SMU.

The Bears will continue the Harvard Invite with day two of the event on Saturday, Sept. 20.
