Men’s Tennis Set to Participate in the Harvard Invite This Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Brown men's tennis team will travel to Cambridge, Mass. this weekend for the Harvard Invite.

Weekend Schedule

Brown will compete against Yale, Cornell, SMU, Illinois, and Boston University. Friday's matches will start at 10 am, and Saturday and Sunday will begin at 9 am.

Dartmouth Invitational Recap

At the Dartmouth Invitational, the Bears gave a strong showing against competition from Dartmouth, Bryant, and Fairfield.

On day one, the Bears picked up singles victories from Alex Oberg, Lukas Phimvongsa, Zander Bravo, Chunxi Yang, Jack Wasserman, and Thomas Murphy, with several matches decided in third-set super tiebreakers. All the freshmen notched their first collegiate win on the first day of the season.

Brown's doubles play stood out on day two, as Oberg and Yang posted two victories, while Hernandez and Phimvongsa also earned a pair of wins. Bravo and Murphy added another doubles victory to round out the day. In singles, Brown secured four more wins, highlighted by straight-set victories from Oberg, Yang, and James Lian.

The Bears closed the weekend with two more doubles victories on day three, with Hernandez and Phimvongsa and the pairing of Lian and Wasserman each earning wins. Wasserman and Yang also collected hard-fought singles victories to cap off the tournament.

What's Next

Brown will continue its fall season at the ITA New England Regionals from Oct. 8-14 at Yale.
