PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown Field Hockey head coach Britt Broady announced the addition of Frankie O'Brien as an assistant coach to round out the staff ahead of the 2025 campaign. O'Brien comes to College Hill after most recently serving in the same role at Ohio University.
"I'm excited to welcome Frankie O'Brien to our staff as we continue building success in the 2025 season!" said Broady. "Frankie brings a demonstrated passion for leadership and student-athlete development that will make a significant impact on our program as we pursue an Ivy League title.
"As a standout center back and former team captain, Frankie brings skill and perspective that will be vital to our defensive strength against a competitive 2025 slate of opponents."
O'Brien spent three years with the Bobcats as a graduate assistant before taking on an assistant coach role for the 2024 season. Additionally, O'Brien has served as a Nexus Head Coach and Site Director for the last six years.
A standout player at Hofstra, O'Brien played in 85 career games with 81 starts over five seasons (2017-21) and was a team captain for four seasons. She also served as Hofstra's SAAC President in the 2021-22 academic year and was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad five times.
"Joining the Brown Field Hockey staff is an incredible opportunity," said O'Brien. "I'm so excited to be part of this outstanding program and to contribute to its growing excellence. I can't wait to build strong relationships with the players and staff, support their growth on and off the field, and work together to reach our highest potential."
O'Brien graduated from Hofstra with a degree in English and English Education before earning her Master's in Sports Science and Coaching Education from Ohio.
