Broady enters her fourth season at the helm of the Brown Field hockey program in 2025 after collecting 23 wins in her first three seasons, the most in a three-year span by the same coach in nearly a decade.
The Bears made significant strides in 2024 and finished the season with a 9-8 overall record and qualified for the Ivy League Tournament for the first time in program history. Brown finished the regular season winning seven out of nine games, including a 4-3 home win over Penn on Senior Day to lock in a postseason berth.
Lucy Adams became Brown's first All-American since 1999 and just the third in program history with NFHCA Second Team recognition. Adams and Mia Karine Myklebust also earned NFHCA First Team All-Northeast recognition, marking the first time since 1999 Brown has had multiple all-region honorees. The duo also picked up First Team All-Ivy honors with Julia Hitti grabbing a spot on the Second Team. Imogen Govan and Katie McCallum closed out the selections with Honorable Mention honors.
The Bears have continued to excel in the classroom with 22 selections to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and eight with Scholar of Distinction honors.
In 2023, the Bears opened the season with consecutive wins over LIU and Holy Cross and added road wins over Longwood and Miami (Ohio) before closing the year with convincing wins over Columbia and Georgetown.
Four Bears earned All-Ivy honors in 2023 with Imogen Govan earning First Tearm honors with Lucy Adams and Julia Hitti picking up spots on the Second Team. Mikayla Walsh earned Academic All-Ivy honors. Govan also earned First Team NFHCA All-Northeast recognition with Adams earning Second Team honors.
In Broady's inaugural season in 2022, Brown's offense scored 1.94 goals per game, the most goals scored since the 2018 season. Brown began the season with five straight wins - the second-best start in program history. Brown also knocked off a ranked team for the first time since 2014, beating Miami (Ohio) in overtime at Goldberger Family Field to finish the season with an 8-9 overall record.
Three Bears earned All-Ivy honors in 2022 with first-year Lucy Adams picking up First Team accolades. Lexi Pellegrino and Julia Hitti were also recognized by the conference.
Bears have popped into international play with Broady's arrival with Lucy Adams and Mia-Karine Myklebust representing the United States at the 2024 Junior Pan-American Championships, earning silver with the Under-21 American squad. Adams represented the United States and Imogen Govan represented Canada in 2023.
Britt Broady, a USA Field Hockey Level III certified coach with two decades of collegiate and national coaching experience, was named the head coach of the Brown University field hockey program, Vice President for Athletics and Recreation M. Grace Calhoun, PhD announced on Tuesday, January 4, 2022

Broady comes to College Hill after spending the last five seasons as head coach of the UC Davis program. Under Broady, the Aggies set a program win-percentage record with eight wins in the 2019 season which included wins over American and rival UC Berkeley.
In the 2021 season, UC Davis finished with wins over Bellarmine, Brown, New Hampshire, Ohio, St. Louis, and Stanford. Senior Madison Theodore earned the program’s first multi-year All-Region selection and freshman Caroline Stutte was named to the America East All-Rookie team.
The 2019 Aggies finished the season with an 8-9 overall record and ranked 18th in the NCAA in shutouts per game (0.29) and 20th in the NCAA in goals against average (1.39). Senior goalkeeper Chelsea Bigelow was named a 2019 NFHCA All-Region honoree after leading the America East conference in shutouts (5) and finished third in the NCAA in save percentage (.806), 12th in the NCAA in saves per game (6.12), and 18th in the NCAA in goals against average (1.39).
In total, Broady helped 13 Aggies garner All-America East honors and three Aggies earn NFHCA All-Region honors in her tenure.
In the classroom, Broady’s UC Davis squads excelled with double-digit Aggies regularly named to the NFHCA National All-Academic Squad. A program-best 12 Aggies were named to the NFHCA National Academic squad in 2018 and 2020.
Prior to her time on the West Coast, Broady spent five seasons as an assistant at Duke (2011-15) under legendary head coach Pam Bustin, a USA Field Hockey Hall-of-Famer and two-time ACC and NFHCA South Region Coach of the Year.
While at Duke, Broady helped the Blue Devils reach the 2013 National Championship game and the 2015 NCAA Final Four while helping student-athletes garner several All-America, All-Region, and All-ACC accolades. She also coached future US National Team goalkeeper, Lauren Blazing.
Broady served as an assistant under Bustin at Louisville for eight seasons (2003-10), helping the Cardinals claim five conference championships and three NCAA tournament appearances. Under Broady’s guidance, two Cardinal goalkeepers earned NFHCA All-America and conference goalkeeper of the year honors.
Broady began her coaching career at American University, spending the 2001 and 2002 seasons with the Eagles.
In addition to her collegiate experience, Broady has two decades of involvement with USA Field Hockey at several levels. Notably, Broady spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the U.S. Under-21 National team, helping the Americans win silver at the 2016 Pan American games and an eighth-place finish at the 2016 World Cup.
Outside of her work with the Under-21 team, Broady currently serves as the Northern California Head Coach and Regional Selection Manager of the USA Nexus Program, a position she has held since 2016. A National and Regional Futures Tournament selector and coordinator since 2001, Broady has worked with USA Field Hockey at several tournaments, development team training camps, and Futures programs since finishing her collegiate playing career.
Broady currently serves on four NFHCA committees after being named to the NCAA Championship Committee, the NCAA Field Hockey Rules Committee, and the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee in 2020. She has served on the NCAA All-American, West Region committee since 2018.
Broady graduated from Dartmouth College in 2001 with a degree in Brain and Psychological Sciences and Biology following a stellar career with the Big Green. A four-year starting goalkeeper and captain as a senior, Dartmouth compiled a 44-29 record in her four seasons, finishing second in the Ivy standings in 1997 and third in 1998 and 2000.
As a junior in 1999, Broady (née D’Augustine) was named Second Team All-Ivy after posting a .802 save percentage and 1.29 goals against average along with a 14-5 record and four shutouts.
Broady holds the Big Green program records in career minutes (5117:38) and career wins (44). She ranks second in program history in career saves (431) and shutouts (16) and fifth in career save percentage (.792).
A native of Auburn, Maine, Broady returns to New England with her husband, Jimmy, a former baseball player at Louisville, and their two daughters.
