No. 19 Field Hockey Falls 2-0 to No. 3 Harvard in Ivy League Tournament Semifinals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 19 Brown field hockey team (10-6, 4-3) fell 2-0 to No. 3 Harvard (17-0, 7-0) in the Ivy League Tournament Semifinals on Friday at Berylson Family Field Hockey Field.
Brown's first chance of the contest came on a shot by Lexi Pellegrino midway through the first, her attempt was turned aside by Linde Burger.
Sage Piekarski opened the scoring with 31 seconds left in the opening stanza.
The Crimson outshot the Bears 5-0 in the second as they were able to double their lead on a goal from Lara Beekhui 4:52 into the frame. Brown goalkeeper Ellie Parker went on to stop two shots in the second, Harvard took a 2-0 advantage into the second half.
The Bears took to the offensive to begin the second half, they earned three penalty corner chances and generated two shots in the first five minutes but were unable to find the back of the net. Lucy Adams had a chance to cut the Harvard lead in half 3:20 into the half, but Burger made a save on Adams' chance.
Brown's fourth penalty corner opportunity came 9:12 into the third, Pellegrino had a chance to put Brown on the board but Burger made the stop. Overall, Brown had four penalty corner chances and three shots in the third as Harvard kept its 2-0 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.
The Bears outshot the Crimson 6-1 in the fourth quarter, they generated three penalty corner chances. Brown's best fourth quarter chance came with 7:56 remaining as Sophia Clark's shot was denied by Burger off of a penalty corner chance. The Bears were unable to generate a shot with their final two penalty corner opportunities as Harvard held on for the victory.
Brown outshot Harvard 9-6 in the second half and generated 7 penalty corners to Harvard four. Lexi Pellegrino tallied a team-high five shots (three on target), as Lucy Adams had three. Ellie Parker made six saves in the contest.
