Sailing Finishes Fourth Overall, Seven Sailors Earn All-America Recognition
6/10/2025 3:45:00 PM | Women's Sailing, Coed Sailing
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown coed sailing team has finished fourth overall in college sailing, while seven sailors have earned All-America recognition as announced by the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) on Tuesday.
After winning the Fowle Trophy in 2024, the Bears closed out the 2025 season with the fourth-most Fowle points in college sailing with 407. Stanford (471.2), Yale (459.4), and Harvard (456) claimed the top three places. The Bears have landed a top four finish for the past three years in a row.Â
The Leonard M. Fowle Trophy is awarded to the best overall team in college sailing, with the greatest number of Fowle points. The points are determined using the composite results of the Women's Singlehanded, Men's Singlehanded, Match Race, Women's Dinghy Semifinals/Finals, Team Race, and Coed Dinghy Semifinals/Final Championship Regattas. Each team receives points toward the Fowle Trophy Award based on its finishing place in each of the events in the composite.
Brown was one of the only four teams alongside Harvard, Tulane, and the College of Charleston to qualify for all seven National Championships throughout the fall and spring seasons. The Bears earned top 10 finishes in all seven competitions. A breakdown of Brown's 2024-25 National Championship results can be found below.
