Softball Drops Series Opener to Princeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball (29-14, 12-7 Ivy) dropped its first game of its series with Princeton (25-15, 16-3 Ivy), 5-0 on Friday afternoon (May 2) at the Brown Softball Field.
The Bears were held to just two hits on the day, with one each from Laurel Moody and Alexis Guevara. Moody also reached base on an error as Brown had three baserunners all game.
Moody singled with two outs in the first and Guevara had a one-out double in the seventh.
Guevara (15-7) was charged with the loss, giving up five runs over four innings with three strikeouts. Edie Cobb finished the game with three shutout innings in relief, collecting two strikeouts.
Princeton finished with six hits on the day and did all of its damage in the third inning. The Tigers scored all five runs, capped by a three-run home run.

Brown will play a doubleheader against the Tigers to close out the regular season on Saturday (May 3) with first pitch set for 12 p.m.
