Baseball Set to Host Yale on Friday and Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Fresh off their second win at home in as many games, the Brown baseball team will welcome Yale to Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium this weekend for a three-game series. Due to weather, the first two games will now take place on Friday with a doubleheader starting at 11:30 a.m. The final game will be on Sunday at 1 p.m. with all games streaming live on ESPN+.

SCOUTING BROWN (5-16, 1-5 Ivy)
- The Bears are 2-0 at home this season. Their 10-6 win over Bryant on Tuesday helped them win three out of four from the Bulldogs this season, their first season series win over Bryant since 2017.
- Freshman Christian Butera is coming off a 5-for-5 performance against Bryant on Tuesday, the first five-hit game for a Bears' player since Reece Rappoli against URI in 2022.
- Butera enters the weekend leading the Ivy League in hitting at .414, no other player in the league is hitting over .365.
- Butera will carry a nine-game hitting streak and a 14-game on-base streak into the weekend.
- Junior outfielder Mika Petersen has a hit in 16 of 18 games this season and has reached base safely in 20 of the 21 games this season. He is second on the team with a .350 batting average and is tied for the team lead with six doubles.
- Rookie outfielder Alex Benevento clubbed his first collegiate home run in Tuesday's win over Bryant.
- Senior Gunner Boree has reached base in nine of the last 10 games and leads the team with 13 walks.
- Junior DJ Dillehay has reached base safely in five straight games and leads the team with 14 RBIs and 13 runs scored to go with a .300 batting average.
SCOUTING YALE (15-8, 3-3 IVY)
- The Bulldogs took two out of three from Harvard last weekend and dropped two on the road the weekend prior against Cornell to sit at .500 in Ivy play through the first two weekends.
- As a team, Yale leads the Ivy League in both team batting average (.281) and ERA (4.04).
- Senior Jake Williams leads the squad in hitting at .363, good for third in the Ivy League. His 29 hits are tied for second in the Ivy League.
- Jack Dauer leads the Ivy league with 28 RBIs, while Kaiden Dossa and Garrett Larsen are tied for the league lead with 24 runs scored.
- All told, six players are hitting over .300.
- Freshman righty Jack Ohman is the only pitcher in the nation (min. 1.0 IP/game) with a 0.00 ERA. He has gone at least 5.0 innings in each of his starts and has allowed just 17 hits and 10 walks over 30.1 IP. He has 38 strikeouts and is holding opponents to a .165 batting average.
