Alexis Guevara Captures Fifth Ivy League Pitcher of the Week Award of the Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball's Alexis Guevara was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season, the league announced on Tuesday (April 29).
Guevara was stellar again, posting a 3-0 record with a 1.33 ERA last week. The senior threw 21.0 innings and had 26 strikeouts to two walks while surrendering just four runs.
Guevara started the week with a shutout at Central Connecticut with a career-high 14 strikeouts. In the game, Guevara set the Brown career and single season strikeout records. Against Yale, Guevara was 2-0 with 12 strikeouts in 14 innings.
The Chula Vista, Calif., native continues to lead the Ivy League in ERA (1.65), strikeouts (143) and wins (15).
Guevara and the rest of the Bears will be back in action on Wednesday (April 30) when the Bears make the trip to Providence.
