Baseball to Host Harvard this Weekend in Key Ivy League Series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Winners of their last two Ivy League series in a row, the Brown baseball team is set to host the Harvard Crimson this weekend for a three-game series at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium. Both squads are among the five teams vying for the final spot in the upcoming Ivy League Tournament, all of whom are separated by just 1.5 games.
Due to the expected inclement weather, the schedule has shifted to a single game on Friday, April 25 starting at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m. Only Sunday's games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

SCOUTING BROWN (9-23, 5-10 Ivy)
- The Bears are coming off their second consecutive Ivy League series win last weekend, taking two out of three from Princeton, coming from behind to win the final two games 7-4, and 12-8 in 10 innings.
- Sophomore Ryan Oshinskie tossed 5.0 innings of relief last week, allowing just two hits and one earned run while striking out nine and holding opponents to a .118 batting average. A career-high seven of his punchouts came over 4.0 innings on Saturday at Princeton.
- Junior Mika Petersen ranks third in the Ivy League with a .355 batting average and is second on the team with eight stolen bases. He batted .500 in the games at Princeton with five RBIs and three runs scored.
- Junior Logan Meusy batted .417 in the four games last week with an on-base percentage of .556.
- Senior ace Santhosh Gottam started and went 4.0 innings on Saturday, then came back the next day to earn the win in extra innings with 1.2 scoreless innings of relief.
- Junior pitcher Christian Keel has only allowed three earned runs over his last two starts, spanning 14.2 innings. He has struck out 11 batters in that time.
- Mark Henshon (.357), and Nathan Brasher (.353) and DJ Dillehay (.294) all hit over .290 over the four games last week, with Christian Butera and Brandon Chang both hitting .286 over the same span.
SCOUTING HARVARD (8-22, 5-9 Ivy)
- Harvard enters this weekend half a game ahead of Brown in the Ivy League standings. The Crimson took two out of three games from Cornell at home last weekend and split two games against Princeton two weeks ago with one game rained out.
- Harvard is hitting .260 as a team this season, fifth in the Ivy League. The team's 8.60 ERA ranks seventh.
- Senior George Cooper ranks fifth in the league in hitting entering the weekend with a .348 batting average, leading the Crimson with eight doubles and 24 RBIs, while tied for the team lead with five homers.
- Senior outfielder Matt Gilberti holds the team lead with 24 runs scored and 14 steals while hitting .333.
- On the mound, Truman Pauley has delivered three strong starts in a row, allowing two earned runs or fewer over that span while throwing at least 6.0 innings in each. He was named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week on April 15 after taking a no-hitter into the ninth inning against Princeton while striking out a career-high 12.
- Callan Fang is fourth in the league with a 3.76 ERA this season with 35 strikeouts over 40.2 IP across seven starts.
- Harvard will face off against Northeastern on Tuesday evening at Fenway Park in the championship game of The Baseball Beanpot. Harvard clinched its spot in the finals with a 13-5 win over UMass on April 1.
After this weekend, Brown will hit the road for the final time in the regular season to face off against Holy Cross on Tuesday evening, April 29 at 6 p.m.
