Baseball Heads to Princeton for Three-Game Weekend Series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Coming off an eight-game homestand, the Brown baseball team will hit the road for four straight games, starting this weekend with a three-game series at Princeton.

SCOUTING BROWN (7-21, 3-9 Ivy)
- Brown is coming off a 3-5 homestand, which included an Ivy series win by taking the final two games against Dartmouth last weekend. The Bears dropped a midweek home clash with URI 16-6 on Wednesday.
- Offensively, the Bears have seen production from freshman Christian Butera (.345) and junior Mika Petersen (.343), who both rank among the league leaders in batting average.
- Butera ranks second in the Ivy League with a .583 slugging percentage.
- Junior Christian Keel is coming off a 9.0 inning complete game effort last Friday against Dartmouth, throwing a career-high 104 pitches and tying his career-high with six strikeouts in a 4-1 win.
- Logan Meusy had a pinch-hit walk off double against Dartmouth last Saturday and scored two runs on Wednesday against URI.
SCOUTING PRINCETON (9-24, 5-6 Ivy)
- Princeton enters this weekend in fourth place in the Ivy League standings, one game clear of both Cornell and Dartmouth.
- Last weekend, the Tigers split two games at Harvard (a 1-0 win, and a 3-2 loss) before the third game was rained out.
- They won a 20-8 mid-week game on Wednesday at Rider, seeing Caden Shapiro go 3-for-6 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs.
- The 20 runs for Princeton were their most in a game since 2022.
- Princeton enters the weekend batting .204 as a team, last in the Ivy League with Brown the next closest at .235.
- Jake Coonin leads the Tigers with six home runs and is third with 16 RBIs.
- Jake Bold leads the team with a .257 average, 18 RBIs, 30 walks and a .432 on-base percentage.
- Andrew D'Alessio holds a 5.65 ERA in a team-leading 43.0 innings this season across eight starts.
- Justin Kim has been the team's top reliever, holding a 1.55 ERA across a team-high 14 relief appearances.
- Jacob Faulkner is fourth in the league among eligible arms with a 3.67 ERA.
