Women's Tennis Suffers 4-1 Loss at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. - The Brown women's tennis team (10-10, 2-3 Ivy) fell 4-1 to the Dartmouth Big Green (9-11, 2-3 Ivy) on Sunday afternoon at the Boss Tennis Center.Â
"Dartmouth played a great match against our team today. They came out with a lot of energy and played aggressively from the first point of doubles," Broadbent Family Women's Tennis Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser said.
The Big Green headed into singles with an edge over the Bears after posting wins at first and third doubles, earning them the point.
"Bella and Dani competed well in doubles and were on the verge of winning their set, but we were not able to secure the other two sets and once again started the match at a 0-1 deficit," Schmidhauser added.
Sophomore Dani Ben-Abraham earned the lone win for the Bears in two sets at third singles, 6-2, 6-4.Â
"In singles, Dartmouth dominated on three of the six courts, and our players couldn't quite figure out a way to get back into their matches. Dani put together another dominating performance and overwhelmed her opponent with her pinpoint accuracy and aggression. We will regroup this week as we enter our final weekend of competition. Although Ali didn't get to finish her match, she played with courage and used her weapon forehand to keep her opponent on defense," Schmidhauser concluded.
