Men's Lacrosse Falls at #3 Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The third-ranked Princeton Tigers (9-2, 3-1 Ivy League) pulled away from the Brown Bears (3-8, 0-4 Ivy League) to take a 17-7 home conference win on a drizzly Saturday at Class of 1952 Stadium.
 
"Today was not our finest effort," said head coach Jon Torpey. "Hats off to Princeton, they beat us in every facet of the game today. I'm looking forward to seeing our team regroup and improve."
 
Matteo Corsi opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season 65 seconds into the game to give the Bears the early lead.
 
After a Princeton goal, Brady O'Kane continued his scoring stretch with his first goal of the game off a feed from Luke Dellicicchi with 8:42 remaining in the first. The Tigers answered with three goals to end the quarter with a 4-2 advantage.
 
Ennis Udo brought the Bears back within two goals with his fourth goal of the season eleven minutes into the second quarter. However, the Tigers struck for three goals to close out the half with an 8-3 lead.
 
Princeton added five consecutive goals to start the third quarter, including three straight from Nate Kabiri, before O'Kane added his second of the game late in the frame. The Tigers took a 13-4 lead to the fourth quarter.
 
Felix Rockefeller recorded his third goal of the season with a man-up goal with 13:11 remaining in the fourth. Spencer Hughes added the assist. Ben Scandone added a behind-the-back goal less than a minute later for his first goal of the game.
 
Marcus Wertheim added his first of the game with 2:02 remaining to bring the final score to 17-7.

GAME NOTES
- Connor Foley made the start in goal and finished the game with six saves in just over 30 minutes. Andy Demopoulos and Harry Laferriere both recorded four saves in relief.
 - Princeton's Ryan Croddick recorded 16 saves to pick up the win.
 - Dash Sachs finished 12-for-25 on faceoffs with four ground balls.
 - Princeton finished the game with a 53-37 edge in shots and a 31-25 advantage in shots on goal.
 - Brown finished 1-for-2 in man-up situations while Princeton finished 2-for-4.
 - Princeton finished the afternoon with a 40-33 advantage in shots on goal.
 - Both teams finished the game with 14 turnovers. Brown was 13-for-18 on clears and Princeton was 23-for-28.
