Men’s Basketball Hosts Yale for Regular Season Finale on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's basketball team (14-12, 6-7) will host Yale (19-7, 12-1) for its regular season finale on Saturday, tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Prior to tip-off, Brown will honor its five seniors: Aaron Cooley, Lyndel Erold, Sam Klores, Kino Lilly Jr., and Nana Owusu-Anane.
Ivy Madness Implications
The Bears can punch its ticket to Ivy Madness for the second consecutive season with a win over Yale, a Penn win over Princeton, and a Dartmouth win over Harvard. All four Ivy League games on Saturday are set to tip-off at 2:00 p.m.
History Made, The Chase Continues
Kino Lilly Jr. is now the all-time leader in program history with 325 three-pointers made. Lilly Jr. also sits second all-time in career points with 1,859, he is 183 points away from being the all-time program scoring leader.
Lilly Jr. ranks third in Ivy League history in three-pointers made (325). Against Dartmouth (Jan. 25), Lilly Jr. became the third player in Ivy League history and the first player in program history to hit 300 three-pointers.
Ivy Iverson
Kino Lilly Jr. is averaging 17.4 points per game on 39.7 percent shooting from the field and 39.4 percent shooting from three-point range this season. He is also shooting 36.5 percent from three-point range in Ivy League play.
The senior is averaging 3.27 three-pointers per game and is nine three-pointers away from breaking Brown's single-season record of 93 set by Sean McGonagill during the 2013-14 season.
Lilly Jr's 3.27 three-pointers per game ranks 10th in the nation, his 85 total three-pointers made sits 44th nationally, and his 18.0 points per game ranks 66th nationally.
The senior's 325 career three-pointers ranks 17th in the nation among active players.
Cooley Continues To Impress
Aaron Cooley is averaging 10.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, the senior has double-figure scoring efforts in 16 out of 26 games. Cooley scored a career-high 28 points in Brown's 83-82 win at Cornell (Jan. 20), he also had a career-high 10 field goals made against the Big Red.
Cooley's 28 points was the second-most by a Bear this season, the Roxbury, Mass. native shot 10-13 from the floor and 3-3 from three-point range; all three of Cooley's triples came in the first half.
Cooley shot a perfect 4-4 from the floor in the second half while grabbing seven total rebounds.
Cooley also had a career-high 15 rebounds in the Bears' season opener at Siena (Nov. 4), Cooley's 15 rebounds is the fourth-most by an Ivy League player this season; he's recorded double-digit rebounds in four games.
Cooley is shooting 47.6 percent from the floor this season and is shooting 48.5 percent in Ivy League play; his 6.0 rebounds per game ranks eighth in the Ivy League.
Lewis' Leap
In the absence of Nana Owusu-Anane, Landon Lewis has scored in double figures in 19 out of 22 games played this season, he's scored 15 or more points in 11 out of 22 games played.
Lewis netted a then career-high 21 points in Brown's win over Bryant (Dec. 6) on 9-12 shooting from the floor, he also recorded his first career double-double in Brown's win over Sacred Heart (Nov. 17) with 14 points and 11 rebounds on a perfect 6-6 shooting; he backed up that effort with 17 points (8-11) shooting at Canisius (Nov. 23).
Lewis' 2.8 offensive boards per game ranks first in the Ivy League, his 6.7 rebounds per game is sixth in the Ivy League.
Lewis' 59.2 field goal percentage ranks 27th in the nation and second in the Ivy League. The Los Angeles, Calif. native is averaging 14.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season.
On the defensive end, Lewis has recorded four or more blocks on four separate occasions and five blocks on three separate occasions. Lewis' 1.55 blocks per game ranks third in the Ivy League.
After going scoreless in the first half at Harvard (Feb. 28), Lewis scored nine second half points, including eight in the final 2:20 of the second half to help Brown pick up a 59-52 win, Lewis also shot 5-6 from the free throw line in the second half.
Most recently, Lewis scored a career-high 22 points on 11-16 shooting at Dartmouth (Mar. 1), he also grabbed seven rebounds.
Boston Strong
In Brown's 59-52 win at Harvard, Aaron Cooley led all scorers with 14 points, he shot 4-7 from the floor in the second half while grabbing three rebounds. The Roxbury, Mass. native was a +15 in the final 20 minutes.
Lyndel Erold was a +17 in the second half for Brown, earning a crucial block with 15 seconds remaining to give the Bears the win. The Boston, Mass. native grabbed five rebounds, four of which were defensive in the second half against Harvard.

Erold matched a then career-high 15 points in Brown's Ivy League opener at Yale (Jan. 11) on 5-8 shooting, Erold then had 11 points on 5-9 shooting at Cornell (Jan. 20). Erold followed up his performance at Cornell with a career-high 20 points with four three-pointers made against Dartmouth (Jan. 25).
At Penn (Jan. 31), Erold grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds, eight of which were defensive. He also had two blocks for the Bears in the final 3:24 of the contest, helping Brown earn the victory.
In Brown's win at Harvard, Erold was a +17 in the second half and grabbed four defensive rebounds to go along with one block.
Scouting Yale (19-7, 12-1)
Yale clinched the Ivy League Regular Season title on February 22, the Bulldogs suffered their first Ivy League loss in their last contest with a 74-69 defeat. In the loss, senior Bez Mbeng tallied his third triple-double of the season.
John Poulakidas leads the Ivy League with 18.9 points per game, the senior has notched double-digit scoring efforts in 12 consecutive games.
