Track and Field Excels at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Brown track and field programs competed at the Raleigh Relays on the tail end of their spring break.
MEN
The men's side featured first-year Trevor Wilder earning a top-10 finish in the 400 meter race. He tied the fifth fastest time in school history (47.36).
Aaron Caveney excelled in the 800 meter race, finishing 24th with a time of 1:50.14. That time was eighth fastest in Brown school history.
WOMEN
The women's side featured a first place finish by Jada Joseph in the triple jump. With a mark of 13.01 meters, Joseph moved to third place in school history.
Julia Schriefer finished 82nd in the 1500 meter race, setting the ninth fastest time in school history in the process (4:26.61). Morgan Boonshaft continued her stellar first-year campaign with a 61st place finish in the 5000 meter race. Her time of 16:30.94 was good for fourth best in school history.
Elle Riley, Maddelynn Brooks and Kareema McKenzie had strong performances in the hurdles. Riley set the eighth best time in school history in
the 400 meter hurdles (1:01.38) and tied the ninth best time in school history in the 100 meter hurdles (14.07). Brooks set the third best time in
Brown history in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.17. McKenzie set the 10th best time in school history in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.69.
Olivia Fraga finished 27th in the 3000 meter Steeplechase, running the fifth fastest time in Brown history (10:35.87). The 4x400 relay team consisted of Kareema McKenzie, Elle Riley, Anna Pollak and Maddelynn Brooks. They set the fifth fastest time in school history with a time of 3:43.57. Chidinma Agbasi was tremendous in the hammer throw, setting the third best mark in school history with a throw of 58.36 meters.
UP NEXT
The Bears will be back at it next Saturday with a short trip to Bryant University for the Black and Gold Invitational on April 5.
