Madeleine Poissonnier Scores Three Goals in Loss to No. 8 UC Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. – Brown women's water polo (11-12) dropped its contest to No. 8 UC Irvine (11-9) by a score of 20-9 in an exhibition at the Anteater Aquatics Center on Tuesday night (March 25).
Madeleine Poissonnier led Brown with three goals. Claire Poissonnier, Ella Palmer, Alexandra Love, Ava Schoening and Sofia Holman all scored one goal for Brown. Roxanne Hazuka finished the game with seven saves for the Bears.
Brown took an early 2-1 lead but UC Irvine came back to lead 6-3 after the first quarter. A later 3-0 run by the Anteaters in the second quarter led to an 11-5 deficit for the Bears at the half.
UC Irvine outscored Brown 4-2 in the third quarter and 5-2 in the final quarter for the final tally.

Brown will finish its trip to California on Wednesday with games against Pomona-Pitzer at 7 p.m. ET/4p.m. PT and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
