Women's Water Polo Downed by No. 2 USC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo (11-11) fell 23-9 to No. 2 USC (23-1) on Sunday as the Bears started their trip to California.
Madeleine Poissonnier and Aubrie Anderson led Brown in scoring as each found the net twice. Ella Palmer, Hanna Tidrenczel, Alexandra Love, Gaby Montalvo and Sofia Holman all scored once.
Roxanne Hazuka finished the game with four saves and Somto Okafo had three.
Brown's most prolific quarter came in the first as goals from Tidrenczel, Holman, Poissonnier and Anderson all scored and the Bears trailed 6-4 after the first eight minutes.
USC took control of the game in the second, outscoring Brown 10-2 and taking a 16-6 lead into halftime.
Brown's last three goals came in the third quarter with Poissonnier, Anderson, and Montalvo each scoring.
UP NEXT
Brown will remain out west for a game at No. 8 UC Irvine on Tuesday. The game against the Anteaters will begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
