Women's Tennis Drops Match to Dartmouth at Second Day of ECACs

"We always have great battles against Dartmouth, and today was no exception. The match came down to a couple of points that unfortunately didn't go our way,"Â Broadbent Family Women's Tennis Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser said.
Dartmouth earned the doubles point after winning first and second doubles. Seniors Lindsey Hofflander and Addison Ahlstrom fought at the first line, but lost to Dartmouth's Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore, 6-3. Sophomore Dani Ben-Abraham and first-year Bella Hu dropped their doubles match to Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Elise Wong, 6-3.Â
In singles, the Bears earned wins at the third, fifth, and sixth lines. First-year Ali Maguy earned a win over Fahrmeier in three sets (5-7, 6-3, 6-0). Sophomore Anne Yang got the job done in two sets against the Big Green's Elise Wong (6-2, 6-0). First-year Sari Woo earned a win at the sixth line over Caroline Lemcke (7-5, 6-3).
"Annie Yang competed with clarity and great execution, overwhelming her opponent with her aggressive play. Sari Woo was relentless in pressure situations, making her opponent hit an extra shot time and time again. It was great watching Sari compete for the Bears as returns to play from a lengthy injury. After losing the first set, Ali Maguy found a way to play aggressively while consistently executing her patterns, running away with 10 straight games to finish out her match," said Schmidhauser.

The Bears will compete in the final day of the ECAC Championship against Penn at 8 a.m.
