Women's Tennis Travels to Penn for ECAC Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown women's tennis team will travel to Philadelphia this weekend to compete for the ECAC Championship, hosted by Penn. Matches begin on Friday, and will run through Sunday.
The Bears are seeded sixth in a field of eight Ivy League teams. Brown will face the third seeded Columbia on Friday at 2 p.m. From there, the Bears will take on No. 2 Harvard or No. 7 Dartmouth on Saturday. Brown will close out the competition on Sunday facing No. 1 Princeton, No. 8 Cornell, No. 4 Penn, or No. 5 Yale.
Brown last won the ECAC Championship in 2023, after defeating Princeton in the final. The win marked Brown's first championship since 1998. The Bears returned to the tournament last season with a fourth place finish.
The Bears will enter the competition with a 2-0 record, posting wins over Boston College (4-3) and Bryant (6-1).
The doubles pairing of seniors Lindsey Hofflander and Addison Ahlstrom enter the weekend undefeated. Hofflander and Ahlstrom have a 3-0 overall record, and a 2-0 mark for the spring. The pairings of first-year Bella Hu and sophomore Anne Yang, along with sophomore Dani Ben-Abraham and Hu both hold 1-0 records. In doubles, the Bears have a 4-1 record.
Bella Hu currently holds the best record for the Bears, with an 8-4 overall record, and a 1-0 mark for the spring. Shen has won both singles matches that she has competed in against Boston College and Bryant, earning her a clean 2-0 record. The Bears enter the weekend with an 8-4 singles record.
