
Bears Dominate in Regular Season Finale

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Bears wrapped up regular season competition on Saturday night with their most complete performance of the year, beating Sacred Heart by a final score of 43-3.
Joey Iamunno (149), Keegan Rothrock (165), and Drew Clearie (174) all picked up pinfall victories against the Pioneers. For Iamunno, this is his fifth pinfall victory of the 2024-25 campaign, while Clearie and Rothrock both recorded their first pinfall wins of the season.
Connor O'Donnell (184) won his matchup against Nicolas Eboli (Sacred Heart), improving his overall record to 8-3 and remaining unbeaten in dual competition at 2-0. The Freshman has flashed a lot of potential throughout te season and heads into the postseason on a hot streak.
Speaking of wrestlers who are on a hot streak, Blake Saito (157) and Alex Semenenko (285) both won their respective matches against Felix Lettini (Sacred Heart) and Matthew Walker (Sacred Heart). Saito finishes the season with an 11-3 overall record and a 6-3 record in dual competition.
Semenenko moves to 19-11 on the season and 7-5 in dual competition. Both competitors have their sights firmly set on the Ivy League and NCAA Championships in March, where they will look to cap off impressive regular seasons.
Ian Oswalt (141) also picked up a victory against Andrew Fallon (Sacred Heart), moving to 3-3 in dual competition.
"Tonight went well. We scored bonus where we could and won the majority of the close ones," said Head Coach Jordan Leen.
UP NEXT
The Bears will travel to Princeton, New Jersey to compete in the inaugural Ivy League Tournament on Sunday, March 9.
