Gymnastics Posts Season-High on Sunday at Yale Quad Meet

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Brown gymnastics team posted a season-high score of 193.375 on Sunday, putting up their second-highest scores on the season on each of the four events in their quad meet at Yale.
Towson took home first place with 195.400 points, followed by New Hampshire at 194.500, host Yale at 193.675, and Brown's 193.375.
Sophomore Emily Ford set a new career-high on bars and tied her season-high on beam to lead the team on both events and tie for second overall on beam. Senior Maya Davis tied her season-high while tying for second overall on floor.
Brown started off on beam with a 48.625. Ford led the way and tied for second overall with a 9.800, tying her season-high. Sophomore Lindsay Van Eyk followed in fourth place by tying her season and career-high of 9.775. Juniors Liza Marcus and Jessica Lin both followed with 9.725 to tie for seventh place overall.
Brown jumped up one spot into second place following the second rotation with a storng 48.775 on floor. Each of the team's top four scorers all tied or set a season or career-highs. Davis led the way for the Bears at 9.850 to tie her season-high and tied for third overall. Marcus (season-high) and freshman Avery Walters (career-high) followed with a 9.775 each. Freshman Daisy Fallon also set a season/career-high at 9.700.
Up next on vault, junior Sophia Dewar led the way for Bruno at 9.725, followed by senior Julia Bedell at 9.700. Brown totaled 47.950 on the event.
Rounding out the afternoon on bars with a 48.025 team score, Ford turned in a sensational routine to set a new career-high of 9.825. Fallon set a new career-high of 9.750, tying her with Marcus who also scored 9.750. Davis followed with a 9.700.
Up next, Brown will have its first championship opportunity of the season next Sunday, February 23 at the Ivy Classic against Cornell, Penn and Yale. Start time in Ithaca, N.Y. is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
