DANBURY, Conn. – Sophomore goaltender Lawton Zacher has been named the ECAC Goalie of the Week for the third time this season. Zacher picked up consecutive wins over the Yale Bulldogs and finished the two games with 57 saves and two goals against.
In Thursday's road win at Yale, Zacher kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard until the final minutes of the third period in a 2-1 win. He finished the night with 26 saves to pick up the victory.
On Sunday, Zacher allowed an early goal to Yale but shut the door for the rest of the game and finished the afternoon with 31 saves in a 5-1 win.
The Mike Richter Award Watch List selection and Hobey Baker Memorial Award nominee picked up ECAC weekly honors in November and December and was also named the ECAC Goaltender of the Month for November.
On the season, Zacher holds a .934 save percentage and 2.05 goals against average along with an 11-6-2 overall record. His save percentage leads the ECAC and ranks sixth in the NCAA. His goals against average leads the ECAC and ranks 11th nationally.
The Bears host the Cornell Big Red (9-8-6, 6-6-4 ECAC) and Colgate Raiders (15-10-3, 10-4-2 ECAC) in a weekend series. Both games are set to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.
