No. 13 Women's Hockey Takes Down Yale with 4-2 Win
12/6/2025 5:24:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 13 Brown women's hockey earned a 4-2 win over Yale on Saturday (Dec. 6) inside Meehan Auditorium.
The win gave Brown (9-5-1, 5-3-1 ECAC) its first victory over Yale (8-7-0, 4-5-0 ECAC) since Jan. 28, 2022, snapping a seven-game losing streak to the Bulldogs.
Four different Bears found the net for Brown and Anya Zupkofska earned her sixth win of the season, collecting a career-high 41 saves.
Brown got on the board first with India McDadi collecting her fifth goal of the season just five minutes into the game. McDadi's original shot was saved but the senior collected the rebound in the corner, took the puck back to the blue line and fired from the top of the far circle, beating Yale's goalie over her shoulder.
Just 19 second later, Brown doubled its lead. The Bears earned a faceoff win in Yale's zone and Zoe Li sent a puck on net from the near dot. Martina Accardi redirected the puck from right in front of the crease to find the back of the net. It was Accardi's second goal of the season.
Yale responded just over halfway through the second period with a power play goal at 11:27 to cut Brown's lead in half. The Bulldogs tied the game just over two minutes later, taking advantage of a two-on-one break.
Just over three minutes into the third, the Bears broke the tie thanks to Jade Iginla. Iginla picked the puck out of a pile behind Brown's goal and skated up ice. The captain found McDadi, who sent the puck back to Iginla. Iginla got just enough on the puck while being taken down to get it under the led of Phillips and just cross the goal line, making it 3-2.
Exactly one minute later, the Bears went up 4-2 off a goal from Sam Broz. Ava DeCoste left the puck for Monique Lyons behind the Yale goal and Lyons found Broz skating down the slot, who one-timed the puck past Phillips for her second goal of the season.
Zupkofska kept Brown ahead making multiple point-blank saves against the high-powered Yale offense as the time ticked away in the third.
GAME NOTES
Brown will play its final game of the first half of the season at Yale tomorrow with puck drop set for 4 p.m.
