Football Returns Home to Host Yale on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown football team will return home to face Yale on Saturday, November 8 on Salute to Service Day and Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day. Kickoff is set for noon and will be televised live in New England on NESN, and well as streamed on ESPN+, with audio available on the Learfield Varsity Network.

OPENING KICKOFF
- The two teams (Yale-19, Brown-18) lead the Ivy League in sacks this season, while Yale has allowed a league-low 3.0 sacks this season.
- Brown (8) and Yale (7) also lead the Ivy League in most fumbles forced this season.
- Brown QB James Murphy leads the Ivy and ranks seventh in FCS with 267.1 passing yards per game, while Yale RB Josh Pitsenburger (116.6) is the only Ivy rusher averaging over 100 yards per game on the ground.
- Yale's Nico Brown (2nd/97.3), Jaxton Santiago (7th/62.6) and Brown's Ty Pezza (8th/62.3) all rank in the top 10 in the league in receiving yards per game.
- Yale is receiving votes in both of this week's national FCS polls.
PASSING LEADER
- Quarterback James Murphy now leads the Ivy League with 267.1 passing yards per game, good for seventh in FCS.
- He has thrown for at least 360 yards and two TDs in each of the last two games.
IVY SACK LEADER
- Junior Ike Odimegwu enters this weekend leading the Ivy League with 7.0 sacks this season. Seven of his 13.0 tackles thus far have been sacks.
- He made his collegiate debut vs. Georgetown by finishing with 4.0 tackles, including 3.0 sacks.
PROTECTING THE FOOTBALL
- Brown's offense has not lost a fumble all season. The Bears' only lost fumble this season came on a muffed punt against Princeton.
- Brown is tied for second in FCS and first in the Ivy League with one lost fumble.
- Brown is one of only nine teams in FCS with zero or one fumble lost this season.
- On the opposite side of the coin, the Bears are tied with Penn and Cornell for the Ivy League lead with six fumble recoveries.
TURNOVERS TELLING THE TALE
- Brown has lost all four games this season when it has turned the ball over the same amount or more than its opponent and won all three games where it has won the turnover battle.
- Brown's turnover margin of +0.29 is third-best in the Ivy League.
SPREADING THE BALL AROUND
- Fourteen different players caught a pass for Brown against Princeton on Oct. 18.
- Over the last 47 games since the start of the 2021 season, Brown has had 24 games where at least 10 different players have caught at least one pass.
- 2025: 3 games; 2024: 5 games; 2023: 5 games; 2022: 8 games; 2021: 3 games.
PILING UP THE SACKS
- Entering this weekend, Brown is second in the Ivy League (18.0 sacks) and ranks 30th nationally in FCS (2.43 sacks per game) in sacks through the first seven games.
- A significant uptick from previous years, Brown has now surpassed its 2024 total of 16.0 team sacks.
- The 18.0 sacks this season are the most of the James Perry era.
