
Women’s Basketball Travels to Bucknell for Black Friday Matchup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's basketball team will travel to Lewisburg, Penn. to take on the Bucknell Bison on Friday, Nov. 28. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. inside of Sojka Pavilion.
The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (4-2)
- The Bears are fresh off of a 68-60 win over New Hampshire. The team erased a 12-point deficit at the half to complete the comeback. Brown outscored the Wildcats 44-24 in the second half.
- Tuesday's result marks Brown's fourth-straight win, leaving them with a clean 3-0 start inside of the Pizzitola Sports Center for the first time since 2018.
- Four Bears closed out the contest in double figures: Alyssa Moreland (17), Grace Arnolie (14), Charlotte Adams-Lopez (11), and Olivia Young (11). This marks Moreland's fifth overall and fourth-straight contest in double figures, as well as her third game posting double-doubles.
- Arnolie leads the Bears in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game. Moreland follows in a close second with 15.0 points per game.
- Brown is currently leading its opponents in points (62.7), field goal percentage (.410), field goals (24.0), rebounds (39.0), assists (11.8), and steals per game (9.3).
- Prior to its win over New Hampshire, the Bears earned a 31-point (70-39) win over Maine. Brown held the Black Bears to just two points in the first quarter, marking the first time that it has kept its opponent under 40 points since its 49-39 win over Cornell at the end of last season.
Scouting the Bison (3-3)
- Earlier this week the Bison posted a 65-41 win over Le Moyne, evening their record at 3-3 (.500).
- Bucknell's previous wins this season came against Mount St. Mary's Md. (49-45, Nov. 12) and Hofstra (61-55, Nov. 22).
- Reese Zemitis leads the Bison in scoring with an average of 12.5 points per game. Tuana Coskun follows behind with 9.7 points per game.
- The Bison are currently leading its opponents in three-point percentage (.285), three-pointers per game (5.8), free throw percentage (.654), and blocks per game (3.5).
- Bucknell was selected to finish seventh in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. However the Bison were chosen to finish eighth last year, and finished in sixth place.
- Bucknell returned eight players, and added five newcomers (four freshmen, one transfer).
History
- The all-time series between Brown and Bucknell is 1-1, dating back to 1996.
- The Bears walked away with a 83-73 win in its first ever matchup with the Bison in 1996.
- Bucknell earned a 78-91 win over Brown in its most recent meeting in 2018.
- Elizabeth F. Turner '98 Coaching Chair for Women's Basketball Monique LeBlanc is a Bucknell alum, having played for the team before graduating in 2002.
