Garre Sets Another Program Record, Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Brown women's swimming and diving collected three more victories on Sunday at Kinney Natatorium, earning the Bucknell Invitational win with 1926 points. Natalie Garre set a program record in the 1650 free, winning the event in 16:20.03. Brown's 'A' 400 free relay team, comprised of Crystal Yuen, Morgan Lukinac, Lily Klinginsmith, and Kelly Dolce, set a pool record, winning with a time of 3:18.16, and Lukinac added another victory, this time in the 100-meter freestyle finals.
SUNDAY EVENING SESSION
The evening began with Garre breaking another school record, this time in the 1650 free, as the sophomore won the event in 16:20.03. The Brown record was previously 16:27.88, set by Megan Viohl in 2014. Crystal Yuen followed in second, and Beatrice Stewart placed fourth.
Brooke Manning (second), Nadia Thomas (third), Emilia Barck (sixth), and Sumner Chmielewski (seventh) finished in the top eight in the 200 backstroke finals.
Lukinac won the 100 freestyle finals with a time of 49.32, and Brown featured several top eight finishes with Isabella Dieffenthaller (second), Dolce (third), Klinginsmith (fourth), and Lily Robinson (seventh) joining Lukinac in the A finale.
Amie Barrow's third-place mark in the 200 breaststroke led the Bears. Kailyn Holmes finished seventh in the event.
Lizzy Washburn (fourth), Beatrice Stewart (sixth), Eva McIver-Jenkins (seventh), and Hannah Ahn (eighth) finished in the top eight in the 200 fly finals.
Brown's 'A' relay team won the 400 free relay, and the 'B' team of Angelina Chen, Audrey Chung, McIver-Jenkins, and Robinson placed second.
SUNDAY MORNING SESSION
Thomas and Garre went 1-2 in the 200 back prelims to advance to the finals. Joining the duo in the top eight were Manning (fifth), Barck (sixth), and Chmielewski (seventh).
Six Bears finished in the top eight in the 100 free prelims, led by Yuen's 49.65 to win the morning session. Dieffenthaller (second), Dolce (third), Lukinac (fourth), Klinginsmith (sixth), and Robinson (eighth) also qualified for the evening finals.
Barrow and Holmes finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200-meter breaststroke to move onto the finals.
Stewart (second), Chmielewski (fifth), Washburn (sixth), and McIver-Jenkins (eighth) qualified for the finals in the 200 butterfly with top eight marks in the prelims.
