Wrestling Kicks Off the 2025-26 Season at the Princeton Open

PRINCETON, N.J. - On Sunday morning, Brown began the 2025-26 season at the Princeton Open, with 16 wrestlers seeing action on the day.

Andrew Reall (197) had the highest finish of the day for Brown, placing fifth overall in his weight bracket. Reall defeated Mike Molina (Sacred Heart-Unatt) via tech fall 19-4 4:22, Remy Brancato-Roed (Lehigh) via major decision 10-2, DJ Henry (TCNJ) via major decision 11-2, and Jackson Van Kley (West Point) via pinfall 3:47. Andrew entered Sunday morning ranked 30th in the country for his weight class by FloWrestling, showcasing some of the skills that have garnered him early national recognition. Reall's only loss on the day was to Justin Rademacher of Oregon State, who entered competition ranked sixth overall in the country.

Austin McBurney (149) took home a sixth place finish in his weight bracket with victories against Christopher Martino (Princeton) via decision 5-0, Sam Kotch (TCNJ) via decision 5-9, Shane Percelay (West Point) via decision 8-1, and Matt Repos (Lehigh) via decision 4-1 sudden victory. Thomas Sandoval (184), Khimari Manns (141), and Connor O'Donnell (165) all recorded sixth place finishes in their respective brackets also. Manns, a freshman making his first appearance for the Bears, put on a spectacular debut performance by going 5-1 on the day. His only loss came at the hands of Lock Haven's Wyatt Henson, who entered competition ranked 14th overall in the nation.

Another standout performer was Joey Iamunno (149), who scored two pinfall victories against Christopher Martino (Princeton - 2:14) and Joe Davi (Princeton - 2:50). In total, the Bears recorded six pinfalls on the day.

"Everyone we entered competed and represented our program well today," Marvin Wilenzik '56 Head Coaching Chair for Brown Wrestling Jordan Leen said. "Khamari Manns and Drew Reall were the stories of the day. Anyone close to the program knows Drew Reall is coming, so there were no surprises there. Mari, being a freshman, maybe did surprise some people. He didn't ask for permission before blasting through several guys with deep Division I resumes."

With roughly one third of Brown wrestlers placing in the top six and every competitor securing at least one win, the Bears started their season off strong as they turn their attention to their first home match of the season on Nov. 15 against the Davidson Wildcats.
