PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a strong showing at the Princeton Open, Brown prepares for a busy weekend of wrestling with its first home meet of the season on Saturday and the Army Invitational on Sunday.
Brown will host the Davidson Wildcats on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Pizzitola Sports Center, the first of five home meets for Bruno this season. The Wildcats have competed in the Southeast Open in Salem, Virginia (Nov. 2) and the Michigan State Open in East Lansing, Michigan (Nov. 8) to start their 2025-26 campaign.Â
Both teams enter Saturday with one nationally ranked wrestler, according to FloWrestling, with Brown's Andrew Reall (197) ranked 31st and Davidson's Tanner Peake (165) ranked 30th. Reall had a strong performance at the Princeton Open, compiling a 4-1 overall record with one pinfall victory, two major decisions, and a tech fall.
The Bears faced Davidson at last year's Davidson Duals in North Carolina, winning nine of the ten matches and finishing with a score of 41-3.Â
On Sunday morning, Brown heads to West Point, New York to compete in the Army Invitational. The Bears will have 18 wrestlers competing in the event, with Alex Semenenko (285) making his first appearance of the season after completing one of the most dominant pinfall campaigns in program history last year (13 falls). Other notable wrestlers to take the mat in New York are Khimari Manns at 141 pounds (5-1 overall record), Reall at 197 pounds (4-1 overall record), and Austin McBurney at 149 pounds (4-2 overall record).Â
Bruno is slated to have six freshmen competing in New York, with Manns, Carr, Pomeroy, Norman, Marchesseault, and McPherson posting a 10-9 overall record at the Princeton Open.Â
